“You good?” He asked.

“Uhun” I responded.

“Sure?” He asked.

“Yeah, don’t worry about me; do your thing.” I assured.

“It’s work; give me five.” He said.

“Take your time; besides we’re home already.” I replied.

“I have to be on my way in the next thirty minutes.”

Jake whispered into my ears as we were having lunch at the dining table.

“It’s fine.” I whispered back.

“What are you two whispering about?” Bee asked.

“Well, he said he has to be on his way soon.” I answered.

“Alright.” She said.

“When will you come visiting again?” Chelsea asked.

Jake threw a quick glance at me which I threw at Chelsea almost immediately.

“Soon.” He answered with uncertainty in his tone.

“Promise?” Chelsea asked.

“Uhun.” He muttered.
