Pete, the Roomie’s ‘Friend’

Pete Evans was the son of a renowned businessman.  He was the only son of his parents and was believed to be the next CEO of his father’s company. He had two elder sisters who were married and established.  I wondered how he could be swimming in wealth and still remain humble…

“Hey! What are you doing?” Dianne interrupted.

I quickly closed the tab on chrome and opened my Netflix app.

“Nothing serious… Just looking for a movie to watch.” I replied.

Whew! I almost got caught. I wonder how she would feel if she found out that I Googled Pete…

“Okay, have you seen the movie ‘After We Collided’? It is a sequel of the movie ‘After’. You should see it; it is interesting.” She suggested.

“Okay I will. Thank you.” I replied and continued, “How was lecture today?”

“It was fine; they were just introductory classes.” She said.

“I see… that’s nice.” I said.

“Yup! So what’s up with you; no class today?” she asked when she noticed that I wasn’t wearing any makeup.

“No dearie. My classes will kick off tomorrow.” I replied.

“Okay. Good for you.” She said whilst bringing out some dresses and placing them on the bed.

“Stepping out?” my curious self asked.

“Have you forgotten that today is Tuesday – Bible Study class?” she asked

“That’s true o!” I exclaimed as I jumped off the bed to get ready for church.

“Besides I invited Pete to church.” She chipped in.

“That is lovely… Did he say he would attend?” I asked.

“Of course he would. He worships there. In fact, he is a member of the Media Unit.” She replied.

“You don’t mean it.” I said as I laughed.

Imagine a freshman inviting a third year student to his own church…
