Episode 21
On our way to our hostel, we were basking in unexplainable joy. At the hostel, I messaged Pop, Aunt K and Bella on Messenger to know how they were faring. At dusk, Dianne and I went out to have dinner. Whilst we were eating and talking, I observed that at intervals, she was typing on her phone.
“Who have you been chatting with?” I asked out of curiosity.
“It is Pete.” She replied whilst trying to hide a smile.
“Oh! I see.” I replied. I actually didn’t see any thing.
“Yes. I invited him to have dinner with us.” She said.
“Okay…” I mumbled.
“I hope you don’t mind.” She said rather than asked.
“No it is fine.” I replied. Like I had a choice.
“Thank you.” She said as she smiled.
“Do you really like this guy or do you just want to catch trips with him? Especially since you know little or nothing about him.” I asked.
“The guy is a nice guy… so who knows? He could be for keeps.” She replied.
“Ha!” I exclaimed and continued, “How do you know he is a nice guy? You have not even spent up to six hours with him.”
“I just know even though I can’t explain it. There is just something that is attracting me to him.” She replied.
“It is okay just be…” I began.
“Speak of the devil” She whispered and raised her hand.
I turned to look in the direction of her gaze. Pete approached.
“Hello ladies.” He greeted and sat on the seat beside Dianne.
I observed that they exchanged a different kind of pleasantries.
All I need is his full name…
