“Missed me?” I asked as I walked in on him replying some messages.
“Of course I did.” Jake replied.
“I’m elated to see you.” I said and hugged him.
“So am I” he responded.
“First things first, what were you and Pop talking about that you two spent more than an hour?” I asked as I pulled away.
“Just basics; what a father would ask his prospective son-in-law. Plus we talked business.” He responded casually.
“Okay…” I replied expectantly.
“What else do you wanna hear?” He asked and continued, “Pop is cool.”
“You’re calling him ‘Pop’ already.” I challenged.
“He said I could call him that when I refused to call him by his first name.” Jake explained.
“I see.” I responded.
“Plus, I aced the interview.” he added.
“I trust you.” I affirmed.
“Yeah. How have you been?” he asked.
“I’ve been good. Does Dianne know that you have arrived?” I replied.
“I’m yet to call her. Let me do that now.” He said as he picked up his phone, dialed her number and put it on speaker.
“Hello bro.” Dianne said as she picked the call.
“Hi sis.” He replied.
“You have arrived, yeah?” she asked.
“Yeah; hours ago.” he answered.
“Well done.” I interrupted.
