In The Hollow Of His Hand
“Not really. Sit over there; I’ll be with you in five.” She replied and handed me a cup of latte.
I sat and surfed the web on my phone whilst waiting for Aunt K.
Then I remembered that I had not checked in on Dianne. I decided to call her. It rang for a while before she picked up.
“I thought you wouldn’t pick up” I said.
“Hello” She said dreamily.
“Don’t tell me that you are still in bed.” I said.
“Okay, I won’t tell you that I am still in bed.” She replied.
“Why would you still be in bed by this time?” I challenged.
“Did you send me on an errand?” She asked.
“That’s not an answer.” I replied.
“Well, it is a free day for me.” She answered.
“Okay, just beep me when you are fully awake.” I said.
“Alright, thank you; bye” she said.
I hung up and surfed the web some more.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting for too long?” She asked.
“No, you didn’t.” I replied.
“So what’s good?” she asked.
“I should be asking you.” I replied.
“How do you mean?” She asked.
“Tell me about him.” I said.
“Who?” She asked.
“You didn’t tell me his name.” I answered.
“Oh! You mean Eric.” She said.
“Okay, Eric, how did you two meet?” I asked.
“Well it was more of destiny than a coincidence. Sip your coffee slowly cos it is one interesting story…” She answered.
I smiled expectantly waiting to listen to the story.
