“NO WAY!!!” I screamed in amazement as I opened the door to see who it was.
“Yes way” he replied.
“but we spoke this morning and in the afternoon as well. How did you get here” I asked cos I didn’t remember telling him exactly where I lived.
“Well, Dianne helped.” He confessed.
“I see. Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked.
“I wanted to pay you a surprise visit.” He answered.
“Okay, nice.” I responded.
“Well, did it work?” he asked.
“Of course it did.” I answered as I grinned from one ear to the other and hugged him.
“I am glad it did.” He responded.
“I have a lot of questions to ask; that can wait but the food served on the table can’t.” I said and ushered him in. We joined them when Aunt K said, “… in Jesus’ name we have thanked.” And we all chorused, “Amen”.
The speed with which everyone opened their eyes to look in the direction of the unfamiliar voice was something else…
