In The Hollow Of His Hand
“Arise and shine!!!” Dianne called out.
“Oh no!!!” I mumbled as I struggled to cover my face.
She had opened the curtains and the light rays found their way into our room.
“Aren’t we going to church today?” She asked.
“Ohhhhhh” I replied as I kicked the air and asked, “What is the time?”
“It is 8a.m. and service commences by 9a.m. So you have just an hour to be ready.” She replied.
“Okay. What time did you wake up?” I asked when I discovered that she was dressed for service.
“I woke up sixty-thirty or thereabout. Don’t mind me; I am an early riser.” She replied and quickly chipped in the latter when she saw my reaction to the former.
“I understand; my Pop is.” I said and went to the bathroom.
An unfamiliar lovely scent filled the room when I was done in the shower.
“What cologne are you wearing?” I asked.
“Mr. Burberry” She replied.
“It smells nice.” I said.
“Thank you.” She replied.
I got dressed and we walked to church.
