When we stepped out of the church auditorium, someone called out Dianne’s name. We both turned in the direction of the caller. It was Pete. He walked briskly to catch up with us.

“Hello there” Dianne said demurely and blushed.

“Hello to you too” he replied and gave her his sweet smile.

Their gaze lingered for too long… I cleared my throat to remind them that there was an ‘I’.

“Hello” I said looking at the duo.

“Oh! Sorry” Pete said.

“It’s fine; I understand.” I replied and smiled.

“How are you doing?” He asked me.

“I am doing well…” I replied and asked, “…and you?”

“That’s good to know. I am doing well too.” He replied.

“Where are you heading to?” He asked.

“We are heading to the hostel” Dianne replied him.

“The day is still young; let us hang out a little.” He said.

I felt that they needed time alone together, so I politely declined.

“Uhmm… I have some calls to make, so you two should have fun without me. Dianne bring my package to the hostel” I said.

“Okay. I won’t be long” she replied as I walked away.
