In The Hollow Of His Hand
The Trinity College
Whilst preparing to resume, thoughts of Travis flashed through my mind. It had been about a month since I heard from him. He had sent me a mail informing me that he also received an admission letter from the Trinity College and that he would try to convince his dad to allow him resume there since it was a boarding school and he wouldn’t need to travel home often. Since then, I hadn’t gotten a feedback from him. So I sent him a text message because I needed an instant response.
“Hey” I wrote and continued folding my clothes into the box whilst awaiting a response from him.
Two minutes later, I received a text message notification on my phone.
“Hiiii” he replied.
“You busy” I asked.
“Nope, what’s up?” he asked.
“I thought about you and decided to beep you.” I said.
“Awwnnn… you miss me. I miss you too.” He replied.
“See you. About the last discussion, did your dad accept for you to resume in TC?” I asked.
… No response… the suspense was killing me.
Five minutes later, I received a text message.
“He didn’t accept. He said he wouldn’t want me to school that far from home?” he replied.
Immediately, it was like a cool breeze blew into my room because I felt a chill down my spine.
“It is fine.” I replied.
“I am sorry.” He apologized.
“Sorry for what? You did nothing. We will just keep in touch as often as we can.” I responded.
“Yeah, you’re right” He responded.
“Later then.” I concluded.
“XOXO” He replied.
“So I guess it’s just going to be me, myself and I then” I thought out loud.
In the Hollow of His Hand continues…
