In The Hollow Of His Hand
“Wow! This looks really lovely. The view is beautiful. I could stay up all night staring without dozing off” I said.
“I told you.” She said.
“You were right” I replied.
“This is my favourite hideout. My brother and I come here often when we want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the house.” She said.
“Your brother – is he around?” I asked.
“No he isn’t. He had to embark on an impromptu business trip. He should be back tomorrow. I would definitely introduce you two.” She replied.
“Alright.” I replied. I expectantly looked forward to it.
Since I was an early riser, I decided to take a walk around the house. I concluded that if I got lost, I would simply call Dianne. I plugged in my headset and decided to enjoy the serenity.
The breeze was cool and soothing. Everywhere was calm and quiet. After walking for some time, I saw a relaxation spot and I sat there. I let my mind wander for a while.
Minutes later, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I was startled and jumped up.
“I am so sorry…” the stranger said.
I was still frightened.
“It is fine.” I stuttered. Even though it wasn’t.
“Charis?” He asked.
“You are…?” I asked.
