“Jacob, Jake? Dianne’s brother?” He replied.
“Oh! Hello…” I replied.
“Hi. I am really sorry for startling you.” He replied.
“It is okay. How did you recognize me?” I asked.
I didn’t remember to look him up on Google.
“Dianne and I chatted last night. Besides, she had sent pictures of you two to me.” He replied.
“Oh, I see…” I replied and continued, “It is a pleasure to meet you. I didn’t think you would arrive so soon; although Dianne said that you would be arriving today.”
“Yeah… I wanted to surprise her hence my reason for intentionally leaving out the details on my arrival time. I arrived some minutes past midnight” he said.
“Welcome.” I said and asked, “How was the business meeting you attended?”
“Thank you. Very well. It was a huge success” He replied.
“That’s good to know.” I said.
“I see you two have already met.” Dianne interrupted.
“Oh yes!” Jake and I answered in unison.
We immediately exchanged glances and I smiled.
“Well that would save me the stress of introduction.” Dianne said.
“Yeah, yeah” Jake replied.
“Brother, I would like to whisk Charis away briefly. You two can meet up later and chit chat.” Dianne interrupted.
“It is okay. We will see around.” Jake agreed.
“Besides she’ll be around for a whole week.” Dianne added.
“Hello, I can speak for myself.” I said to myself.
“That’s great to know. It was a pleasure to meet you, Charis.” Jake concluded.
“Same here.” I replied.
