“Okay, I am sorry. I meant it as a joke.” He apologized.
“Alright then.” I replied and told him about Dianne.
“That’s good to know. I look forward to seeing her someday.” He said.
“Yeah right. So my turn… do you have any close friend?” I asked.
“Uhmmm… well, it is a two-in-one thing.” He responded.
“Please elucidate; how do you mean?” I asked.
“The grammarian” he teased.
“Stop it. I am listening.” I replied.
“Okay, she’s my best friend and my girlfriend.” He said.
I whistled.
“What is it?” He asked.
“Nothing. How did you two meet? I need the full details.” I said in excitement.
He burst into a long and hard laugh.
“What is it?” I asked, wondering what was funny.
“The CIA. You have not changed. I expected College to be rubbing off on you.” He answered.
“Don’t change the discussion. Besides, college has been enhancing my innate skill.” I replied.
“Okay… how we met… well, we met during one of the general lectures. Due to Dad’s transfer, I had to transfer to the nearest college to home as well. It wasn’t easy adjusting to a new environment. I was falling behind academically. I had missed some classes and couldn’t comprehend what the lecturer spoke on my first day at school. There was this pretty lady who sat beside me…”
