“What have you two been up to?” Dianne asked immediately Pete and Jake stepped in.
“Just boys’ stuff” Pete replied.
“Hmmm… just boys’ stuff” Dianne echoed.
“Yes” Jake affirmed.
“Okay” Dianne said.
I wasn’t paying total attention to what they were doing as I was engrossed in the book I was reading.
“What are you reading?” Jake asked as he approached my bed.
“Nothing serious… just a book” I answered with my gaze still on the page.
“Of course I know it is a book. What is the title?” He asked.
This time I sat up to make room for him to sit on the bed.
“It is titled – Following God’s Plan for Your Life by Kenneth E. Hagin”
“That is nice. So what page are you on at the moment?” Jake asked.
I noticed that he was trying to start a conversation.
“I just started the book three minutes before you guys came in, so I am on page five.” I replied.
“Alright.” He replied.
“Do you like Christian books?” I asked.
I thought it best to begin to know some things about him; as this would help in my decision to either kill this growing feeling or nurture it.
“My honest opinion…?”He asked.
“Yes please.” I replied.
“Okay. I read Christian books but I don’t read it often.” He replied.
“Thanks for your honest response.” I replied.
Honesty…. Check!
“You’re welcome… anytime” he replied and continued, “So tell me about you.”
“It depends…” I replied as I closed my book and dropped it by the bedside table.
