“I am fine Pumpkin. How is school going?” Pop asked.
“School is going fine. Lectures have been great.” I responded.
“That is good to know.” Pop said.
“How are you doing too? How’s work, Kate, the house without me…?” I asked.
“One question at a time, Pumpkin. I have been faring well. Work has been going smoothly. Kate… Kate is good. It has been me, myself and I at home…” Pop replied.
“It is all good Pop. I am glad to know that you’re fine. Don’t worry I will be home in less than two months for the holidays.” I said.
“I look forward to that. Do take care of yourself and I love you very much Pumpkin.” Pop said.
“I will, Pop; you too. I love you very much too.” I replied and hung up.
“So who do you love very much too?” Dianne asked.
She had only heard the last sentence as she walked into the room.
“My Pop of course.” I replied amidst laughter.
“Oh!” She exclaimed. She looked disappointed.
“You thought that was my boyfriend, right?” I asked.
“Uhun. You neither talk nor act like you have one though; I wonder why.” She replied.
“Well, that is because I don’t have one yet as I have not found my Mr. Right.” I said.
“I hope you find him soon though cos I’m beginning to feel guilty for always having to leave you all by yourself whenever I step out with Pete.” She replied with so much concern.
“I will find him when the time is right.” I said.
