We got to Church in time to begin the opening prayer. The worship and praise session right after the prayer was soul lifting. After which Pastor Dave mounted the pulpit to teach us the Word.

He read the Bible Study Texts: Ecclesiastes 3: 1 – To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven and Genesis 8:22 – While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

After dissecting these Scriptures, he talked about the place of people in our lives. He said that we shouldn’t be dismayed when certain people, who we think would stay forever, leave. He said some were designed to be in our lives for a season and we should appreciate their presence during and after those seasons.

Immediately he said this, I thought about Travis. I went down memory lane and thanked God for him. Pastor Dave buttressed the need to ask the Holy Spirit per time, what each person had come to do in our lives.

He said we should be flexible to learn from the people God brings our way. He told us not to belittle or look down on anyone, since we don’t know who they truly are and their assignment in our lives. Then he reminded us that we have been commanded to love.

After he finished teaching, he gave room for questions. A lot of questions were asked and he answered them so well. Then he led us through a five-minute prayer session. An altar call was also made and in few minutes, we had said the Grace.

The walk to the hostel was a very quiet one as it seemed Dianne and I were doing some personal reflection. The only words we said to each other that night before we slept were ‘Good night’.
