“Wh….a….t…?” Bee stuttered.
“It has been an amazing past few months with you. I never believed that I would love another woman after Pumpkin’s mum left us. I am glad that you came into my world when I felt it had shattered yet again. I see how you relate with my daughter like she’s yours and how you take care of us.
I am sure that God has given us another chance at love and I would like to spend the rest of my life with you and our children as a family. I didn’t forget that today is your birthday and I chose today to do this since it’s your day. This dinner was to celebrate you under the guise of Thanksgiving. Would you do me the honour of being my wife?” Pop said and asked.
Bee looked in my direction seeking my consent and I quickly nodded.
“Of course! Yes!! Yes!!!” Bee screamed.
Pop picked up the ring from her plate, wore it on her finger and gave her a light peck on the cheek.
The atmosphere was filled with ‘congratulations’. The concluding part of the dinner was chatty and a toast was given with a bottle of fruit wine.
While I cleared the table after dinner, Pop whispered into Bella’s ears and took Jake to the garden; it was probably time for interrogation. Chad and Chelsea were happier than their mom as they met me in the kitchen and chatted about me being their big sister and all the things we would do together.
