“Some news… Are you expecting?” I asked joyfully.

“Don’t be ridiculous.” She responded amidst laughter.

“I mean it. It would be nice though. Can you just tell me? I won’t be home until late next month.” I said.

This suspense wasn’t good for me.

“Nope, your dad and I agreed to wait till you come home.” She responded.

“I give up. I have to go. Send my love to Chad and Chelsea.” I said.

“I will. Take care of you. Love ya.” She said.

“Love you too.” I replied and hung up.

Since Bella wasn’t ready to tell me the news, I decided to try my luck with Pop. I hope it works. I didn’t even stop to think whether he was at work or not. I called him. While it rang, I had my fingers crossed.

“Pumpkin!!!” Pop called as he received the call.

“Pop!!!” I responded.

“You called right on time. I just took a twenty-minute break about two minutes ago.” He said.

“Aren’t I lucky?” I asked.

“No you are not lucky; luck is for losers.” Pop answered.

“Yeah right.” I agreed.
